Candidates can check their individual merit status by logging in with their registered credentials.

All India Applicants can also see JEE Main relevant Merit information when applicable. Candidates are recommended to download and save their merit details for the future stages of admission.
Guidelines for College and Branch Choices by the Candidates
The filling in the option should be based on individual academic ambitions and not merely college rankings. Candidates are requested to check the CAP Round 1 seat matrix, location, programme structure, accreditation, fees, hostel access, placement information and travel requirements.
A balanced option form could offer aspirational choices, realistic choices and safer options but every entry should be acceptable to the applicant. Another good change for 2026 is the display of previous year’s college and branch cut-offs while filling preferences. This would help the candidates to compare merit rank with the previous admission pattern. However, earlier cut-offs are indicative only and do not guarantee admission in the current round.
CAP Round 1 Seat Allocation and Reporting Dates
The first round CAP result for seat allotment will be released on 2nd August 2026. Alloted applicants will have to do acceptance procedure as required and establish reporting process between August 3 and August 5.
The seats will be allotted on the basis of merit rank of the candidate, category, order of choice and availability of seats. Candidates are advised to study the guidelines for seat-acceptance and betterment accessible before proceeding. If the cost is not paid or the acceptance or reporting date is not met, it may affect the given seat and further participation in the counselling process.
Things To Do Before Filling The Option Form
Candidates have to validate the institute codes, branch names and order of each preference before final submission. They should keep a copy of the confirmed option form and have their admission papers ready for the next stage.
The data of final merit, category and eligibility status should be same as per the verified application record. Students and families should not believe unapproved messaging or social media claims when admission dates change. Allotment notices, reporting instructions and any revised timeline will continue to be available on the official CET Cell portal.
