IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert – North Bengal Heavy Rain Alert intensified as India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued warning of extremely heavy rain in several districts of the region. The weather department has issued a warning of flash floods, landslides and severe waterlogging in the Darjeeling and Kalimpong hill districts due to continuous monsoon showers. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar, IMD said.
