Ahmedabad Weather Today Brings Moderate Air Quality With Comfortable Conditions Across the City
A welcome respite from the recent heat wave with moderate air quality and pleasant weather across the city. The recent monsoon showers have brought down the mercury and made the environment much more pleasant for the residents. Better weather has also helped reduce dust levels temporarily, with a positive effect on outdoor conditions.
Why is the weather in Ahmedabad better today?
The south-west monsoon continues to be active over Gujarat and the city of Ahmedabad received light rainfall in the last 24 hours. Rainfall activity is likely to continue over many parts of the state for next few days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The daytime temperatures have dropped significantly due to the recent rains, compared to the warmer weather conditions seen earlier this month. The weather has been favourable for the commuters, the office workers and the people working outdoors. Ahmedabad is not in the maximum rainfall alert but weather conditions are changing and there may be occasional showers.

Ahmedabad is currently experiencing moderate air quality and cooler temperatures, making outdoor conditions relatively comfortable for most people. Rainfall helps to clean dust and suspended particles from the atmosphere and, therefore, improves visibility and temporarily reduces pollution levels.

What is on tap for residents in the days ahead?
The IMD said the active monsoon pattern is likely to continue over Gujarat bringing more rainfall in several districts. Ahmedabad may experience intermittent rains, cloudy skies and pleasant temperatures.
Residents should also prepare themselves for the usual monsoon related disruptions such as waterlogging in low-lying areas and slower traffic during periods of heavy rain. To avoid any inconvenience, pack your rain gear and check the local weather reports before you go.
Monsoon brings with it various health issues.
The rainy season also increases the risk of diseases spread by water. In the last few days cases of diarrhoea and other seasonal diseases have been reported from Ahmedabad. Health officials have advised people to drink clean water, maintain hygiene, avoid eating contaminated food or water.
“Monsoon is expected to remain active and one should follow basic health precautions to reduce the risk of seasonal infections while enjoying the cooler weather,” they said.
