Samay Raina Latent 2 Faces Online Criticism After Contestant Remark During Latest Episode

Samay Raina Latent 2 Faces Online Criticism: Samay Raina’s comedy talent show is once again in the middle of an online controversy after a contestant’s remarks in the recent episode raised considerable ire. In the third episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2, published on July 17, a Bihar-based teacher and content creator Sakshi Jha featured who called herself a “man-hater” and made a terrible comment about wanting to drink and hit her future spouse. Clips of the clip rapidly circulated on social media with many questioning the statements and the choice to include them in the broadcast.

India’s Got Latent 2: Controversy erupts after viral comment

The uproar surrounding India’s Got Latent 2 increased after Jha’s act got zero points from all the panellists. Samay Raina was accompanied by Tanmay Bhat, Vishal Dadlani, Raghu Ram and Yashraj Mehra. Jha scored her own act eight out of ten but the judges and the studio audience rejected the performance. Reports said she was the first contender of the season to receive a perfect zero from all judges.

What Sakshi Jha Said On The Episode

During the interaction, Jha claimed that her disdain for men included her father, brother and grandpa, who were all male members of her family. When Raina was asked what had influenced her opinions she said “generational trauma.” The participant also spoke up about being cheated on in a past relationship, however the piece didn’t explain how it tied into her larger comments.

The comment that drew the most reaction was regarding violence against a potential spouse. Viewers said jokes about domestic abuse should not be normalised, regardless of who is telling them or who they are aimed at. Several social media users also emphasised that support for gender equality should not be misconstrued with hate towards an entire population.

Panel awards zero marks to the performance

The panel disputed Jha’s claims rather than endorsing them. Raina was asked what made her angry, while other judges probed how her perspectives impacted her relationship with her family. “Raina then asked the crowd what they thought and the audience also gave the performance a zero.

This became a part of the viral conversation. While some viewers complimented the panel for sticking to a clear standard, others thought the part might have been edited more carefully. The response highlights how unscripted comedy forms can swiftly go from controversial humour into a bigger conversation about racism, violence and responsibility.

Online criticism raises issues of double standards

Much of the criticism was about fairness. Some users questioned if a male candidate making similar statements regarding women would have been punished more quickly or harshly. Women also joined the criticism arguing that misandry does not represent feminism or gender equality. At the same time, criticism of a public performance should not become personal harassment of the participant.

Why the Backlash is Important for Samay Raina’s Show

India’s Got Talent Season 2 is already under exceptional scrutiny because the programme returned following past scandals related to its first season. Its debut show likewise caused a stir, with some viewers saying that the humour was more subdued and contrived than before.

Despite the criticism the programme still has a huge audience. The second season of Netflix’s India’s Got Latent came third on the list of most watched shows in India between July 6 and July 12, 2026.
