Delhi Weather Today IMD Forecasts Scattered Showers While Warm Conditions Continue Across the City

Delhi Weather Today – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted chances of scattered showers while warm and humid conditions continue in the national capital. A light rain activity is expected to provide temporary relief but high humidity may continue to maintain high levels of discomfort.

The monsoon activity will continue to impact the weather over Delhi-NCR, with isolated rainfall expected in different parts of the city. Cloudy sky with light rain spell in parts likely in Delhi, said India Meteorological Department (IMD). Temperatures are likely to be on the higher side during the day.

The rain may help a bit at first, but the humidity is still an issue

Delhi-NCR got some respite from the prolonged spell of heatwave conditions as rains and gusty winds brought down the temperature for a short span. But, a mix of moisture in the air and warm afternoons will likely keep things muggy throughout the city.

Commuters could face sudden travel disruptions due to scattered showers. Areas that receive heavier spells of rain are likely to see localised waterlogging and slower traffic movement and delays. Residents are urged to check local weather reports before venturing out for outdoor activities.

According to the IMD weather data for Delhi, the temperatures are likely to stay in the upper 30s during the day time with partly cloudy conditions around the forecast period. Minimum temperatures also should remain relatively warm, adding to the humid feel for mornings and nights.

Recent weather has been a mixture of spells of rain and warm spells. The monsoon clouds have increased the probability of rain but the distribution will be uneven which means some parts of Delhi could see showers while other parts will largely remain dry.

What to expect in Delhi today

  • Chance of showers, some rain possible
  • Hot and muggy
  • Traffic disruption in rain-affected areas could be
  • Temporary cooling spells of rains

If travelling during rush hours bring along rain protection and be ready for sudden weather changes. Even when the rain cools the air, humidity can still make it feel uncomfortable for outdoor workers and commuters.

Monsoon activity still remains patchy over North India

The IMD has indicated different rainfall patterns across different parts of North India. While some states are likely to witness heavier rainfall activity, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness lighter and more isolated showers as compared to areas which are witnessing stronger monsoon systems.

The immediate outlook for residents of Delhi is that the rain clouds may continue to offer occasional relief but the city will still have to contend with warm and humid weather conditions.
