Castingbay.in is committed to accuracy. Despite our rigorous verification process, errors can occasionally occur. When they do, we acknowledge them transparently and correct them promptly. This Correction Policy explains how.
1. Our Commitment
We commit to:
- Correcting verified factual errors quickly
- Being transparent about what was corrected and when
- Never silently editing major facts after publication
- Treating correction requests with seriousness and respect
2. How to Report an Error
If you spot a factual error in any of our articles, please report it through one of these channels:
- Email: corrections@castingbay.in
- Contact form on our Contact Us page
- Direct message on our official social media handles
Please include the following information to help us investigate quickly:
- The article URL
- The specific error, including the incorrect text if possible
- The correct information
- Source or evidence supporting your correction, such as a link, document, or official statement
- Your name and contact information, optional but helpful
3. Our Correction Process
Step 1: Acknowledgment
We confirm receipt of your correction request within 24 hours.
Step 2: Investigation
Our editors review the article, the reported error, and supporting evidence within 48 hours. We may consult original sources, contact relevant people, or verify with experts.
Step 3: Decision and Correction
If the error is verified, we correct the article immediately. If we cannot verify the error, we will explain our decision to the reporter.
Step 4: Public Correction Note
For verified errors, we add a clearly labeled correction note at the bottom of the article.
4. Types of Corrections
4.1 Minor Corrections
These are fixed without a public note:
- Typographical errors
- Grammar and spelling mistakes
- Broken links or formatting issues
- Minor punctuation
4.2 Factual Corrections
These get a clear correction note at the bottom of the article:
- Wrong names, dates, numbers, or quotes
- Misattribution of statements or actions
- Incorrect descriptions of events, places, or people
- Inaccurate references to sources
Example format: Correction (DD Month YYYY): An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated [X]. The correct information is [Y]. We regret the error.
4.3 Major Corrections
For corrections that materially change the story’s meaning or core facts:
- A prominent correction notice is placed at the top of the article
- The headline may be updated if it contained the error
- The article may be temporarily unpublished pending full review
- In severe cases, the article may be retracted entirely with a public explanation
4.4 Updates
When new information emerges and we add or modify content without correcting an error, we mark it as an update with the date — clearly distinguished from corrections.
5. Retractions
In rare cases where an article is fundamentally flawed or based on false information, we may retract it entirely. Retraction means:
- The article content is removed and replaced with a retraction notice
- The URL is preserved to maintain transparency
- A clear explanation of why the article was retracted is published
- Apologies are issued to anyone wrongly affected
6. Defamation and Legal Concerns
If you believe an article contains defamatory or legally problematic content, please contact our legal team at legal@castingbay.in. We will investigate promptly and take appropriate action, including:
- Editing or removing problematic content if warranted
- Publishing a clarification or apology
- Consulting legal counsel for serious matters
7. Comments and Reader Submissions
This correction policy applies to articles authored by our team. For user-submitted comments, we moderate as per our Terms and Conditions but do not generally correct them — readers are responsible for their own content.
8. Tracking and Transparency
All corrections are logged internally to identify patterns and improve our editorial process. We may publish a periodic summary of corrections as part of our commitment to transparency.
