Dhamaal 4 Release Date Brings Ajay Devgn Back With the Popular Comedy Franchise
The Dhamaal 4 release date is now locked for July 10, 2026, bringing Ajay Devgn back to the big screen with one of Hindi cinema’s best-known ensemble comedy franchises. Directed by Indra Kumar, the fourth instalment reunites Devgn with Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi and Sanjay Mishra, while Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye, Vijay Patkar and Ravi Kishan expand the lineup.
The date itself has become part of the film’s story. Dhamaal 4 was earlier scheduled for July 17 before the makers moved it forward by a week. That change gives the comedy a distinct position in a busy theatrical period and makes the release more than a nostalgia play: it will also test whether a familiar franchise can still pull family audiences into cinemas when several large Hindi films are competing for attention.
Cocktail 2 Box Office Collection Reaches Rs 84 Crore After Strong Third Week Performance in TheatersThe franchise returns after a seven-year gap
The Dhamaal series began in 2007, followed by Double Dhamaal in 2011 and Total Dhamaal in 2019. Ajay Devgn joined the franchise in the third film, which expanded the series with a larger ensemble cast. Total Dhamaal became the franchise’s biggest theatrical performer, with Navbharat Times reporting ₹155.67 crore net in India and ₹232.18 crore gross worldwide.
That history matters because the new film is not arriving as an unknown comedy. Audiences already associate the franchise with a large ensemble, eccentric characters and escalating comic chaos. The returning cast provides immediate familiarity, while the expanded lineup gives the fourth chapter an opportunity to bring new character combinations into the established format.
Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor Celebrate Anshula Kapoor’s Wedding Reception With Energetic DanceAdvance booking shows interest, but word of mouth may be decisive
Early advance-booking data suggests visible interest without guaranteeing a blockbuster opening. Navbharat Times reported that, by Thursday morning, 43,907 tickets had been sold across 7,589 shows, generating about ₹1.12 crore in gross advance sales before blocked seats were counted. The report also said more than 125,000 users had marked interest in the film on BookMyShow.
Those numbers make the opening weekend especially important. Dhamaal 4 is entering theatres while other major films are already in circulation, including Welcome to the Jungle. AajTak noted that the presence of another star-heavy comedy could mean competition for a similar audience segment. For Dhamaal 4, positive reactions from the first shows could therefore matter as much as pre-release awareness.
Runtime and certification point to a broad-audience play
The film has received a U/A 13+ certificate and has a runtime of 143 minutes, or 2 hours and 23 minutes. Times of India reported that the certification process involved changes to two hand gestures and seven words, with no scenes removed from the film.
That combination of a recognised cast, franchise familiarity and accessible certification underlines the film’s commercial pitch. Dhamaal 4 is being positioned as a big-screen ensemble comedy rather than a niche experiment. Its real test begins on July 10: whether Ajay Devgn and the returning gang can convert recognition into footfalls, and whether the franchise can create enough fresh laughter to continue a series that began in 2007.
